Pizza Hut Book It!

I like to reward good reading habits to my son during the school year. I don't reward for actual school work reading. But I do reward for those extra hours of for fun reading.

I signed up for the Pizza Hut Book It Reading Program. I always enjoyed rewarding students with the ''Free Personal Pan Pizza" coupon when they read the monthly reading goal, when I taught school. I know that there are some who would disagree with the reward system, but I truly believe to keep children interested in something, they need a little motivation.

I do wonder, if I would have been motivated with Reading, if I would have read more as a kid. But my love for reading did not happen until my junior year in high school, when I was homeschooled and HAD to read.

You can sign up too, just don't wait too late or you'll have to wait like I did two years ago.

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY... Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Outside my window...Cloudy

I am thinking...If only it would rain some more, I would have tons of tomatoes that are ripe.

I am thankful for... For my health and the health of my family.

From the learning rooms... Nothing!

From the kitchen... I'm canning salsa and spaghetti sauce.

I am wearing... Gardening Clothes.

I am creating...Yummy things to eat!

I am going... No where until church tonight.

I am reading... The Book of Proverbs and Matthew in my Bible and A Dream To Call My Own by Tracie Peterson.

I am hoping and Praying... for a Special Blessing on an extended family member and his family right now.

I am hearing... The ceiling fan.

Around the house... I have to finish up some laundry, that I am behind on.

One of my favorite things... Beagle puppies

A few plans for the rest of the week... I'm planning for my husband's birthday.

Here is picture thought I am sharing... No picture today, my camera batteries are dead.

Grocery Shopping

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I pretty much stayed busy cleaning and gardening.

I went to the grocery store today... the first time in about a month and a half. Yep, I don't go often except to pick up necessary things. Well today, I had the buggy full and no I did not get out of there cheap - I went to Ingles, since they are 3 miles from the house.

Here is a LINK to some of the pictures from the fireworks, we saw on Saturday night.

Have a good evening.
